John More was born and bred in Hanging Rock in Southland, Johnno's work reflects his love of the native flora and fauna that has influenced his work and personality. His independence and initiative became apparent when at a young age he began breeding and selling Golden pheasants.

Now at 20 years of age John already has developed a distinctive design style that beautifully interprets his understanding of the characteristics of native plants and the essence of their environment.

Johnno is currently earning a degree in ecology at Otago University, but spends his holidays and summers at Birdlings Flat as a research assistant studying the habits of lizards on Kaitorete spit.
